ITC News

(Geneva/Paris) The International Trade Centre (ITC), a United Nations agency, together with Schneider Electric and French NGO Atelier 21, today launched a new online training course. Titled “Become a Player in the Energy Transition”, the course is available free of charge in English, with other languages to follow.

The joint project aims to raise awareness on the challenges of transitioning to renewable energy at a time when the world is facing a major energy and environmental crisis. The complementary skills of all three organizations make it possible to offer quality training that is accessible to all.

The online training addresses the diversity of technologies that accelerate energy transition, from low-tech to automation, through the digitalization of systems. The course includes practical case studies on innovative solutions to a variety of real-world issues. The tool will particularly help small businesses understand the challenges of energy transition, reduce their energy bills, and ensure access to energy during power outages.

In addition, the course is set to foster the learners' commitment to energy transition, for example through local initiatives, and encourage professional opportunities in this field through technical training on solar, wind or water power, and other specialized areas. Case studies look at scenarios from locations with different development levels, urban and rural settings, serving learners around the globe.

The deadline for enrollment is June 12, after which participants will have two weeks to complete the course. Upon passing an evaluation, successful participants will receive a certification as a reward. To learn more about the course, or to enroll, visit the SME Trade Academy.
