Promoting natural Caribbean coconut products at Expo Jamaica
ITC brings two brands to the largest trade show in the Caribbean for better business and investment opportunities.
The International Trade Centre (ITC) and its Caribbean partners are participating in Expo Jamaica from 27-30 April to trigger market interest in their latest sustainable coconut brands and products, and leverage business and investment.
The Expo is hosted by the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA) and sponsored by the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce. It is the largest trade show in the Caribbean and engages with a range of industries, including manufacturing, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and agro-processing.
The event has registered over 21,440 consumers, almost 670 buyers and 220 exhibitors. It brings manufacturers, service providers, primary producers, exporters and the tourism industry into one space, making it a strategic networking opportunity.
This year, two small enterprises from ITC’s Alliances for Action network, BabyLove’s CG Foods from Jamaica and Only Coconuts from Guyana, are representing the Caribbean’s coconut sector at the trade show.
These are two of the flagship brands from ITC’s programme ‘Caribbean: Development of value added products and intra-regional trade to enhance livelihoods from coconuts’, funded by the European Union (EU) and supported by CARICOM.
With regional support from Jamaica’s Coconut Industry Board, Scientific Research Council and JAMPRO, ITC is supporting these brands and other similar sustainable operations to improve their products, expand their commercial network and scale up their activities through the EU-funded programme.
