The EFI projects in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan will invest in human capital to harnesses the power of cultural identity as a vehicle for development, poverty alleviation and identity building. Through the Initiative’s intervention, artisans, micro-producers in Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan — especially from marginalized urban and rural settings and from displaced communities — will have access to new job opportunities, to channels of trade and production and thus also to sustainable income.

The ultimate impact will be at the level of society as a whole, and it will consist in a measurable increase in the human and social capital of the concerned communities of beneficiaries.
