Global Public Goods: Providing trade and market intelligence for informed trade decisions (T4SD component)

    Overview

    Summary

The project builds on ITC’s strategic investment towards supporting MSMEs to understand and respond to the implications of corporate sustainability due diligence (CSDD) requirements, especially the EU proposal for a Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CS3D). Through the provision and uptake of globally applicable tools (global public goods, "GPGs"), the project will work directly with value chain actors from MSME ecosystems, primarily BSOs and also indirectly with lead firms in selected value chains to improve their understanding of the social and environmental due diligence requirements, and the role of existing voluntary sustainability standards and initiatives in relation to future compliance processes. Ultimately the project will target MSMEs – suppliers to lead firms in the markets subject to the CSDD legislation – to collect data on their preparedness to the CSDD requirements, while improving the understanding of which standards are relevant to the fulfilment of these requirements.
