About 20 small businesses are getting their marketing and business strategies revamped, working with a project at the International Trade Centre (ITC).

After the training, agribusinesses will know how to succeed in global markets, especially in the European Union.

Conducted by the Business Support Centre, this programme is a key preparation for Armenia's participation in the world’s largest food innovation show, the SIAL Paris Food Trade Fair in October 2024.

The programme’s launch on 7 August gave an overview of what the businesses will work on.

Karen Azaryan, Trade Officer at the EU Delegation to Armenia, said the programme aims to boost local businesses by helping them better understand the EU market, improve their marketing, and strengthen their communication and negotiation skills.

It’s part of the Building Sustainable Agribusiness and Apparel Value Chains in Armenia project, funded by the European Union.

The training includes:

  • Export Marketing: Strategies, trends, market identification.
  • EU Market Requirements: Certifications, essential documents.
  • Pricing, Distribution, and Logistics: Cost analysis, logistics.
  • Digital Tools: Social media, websites, SEO.
  • Soft Skills: Communication, presentation, negotiation.
  • Each SME will also receive one-on-one consultations tailored to their specific needs.

The 20-22 small businesses who complete the trainings will leave with a greater understanding of EU market requirements. They’ll have improved their international marketing strategies, with better communication and negotiation skills. Each company will improve their marketing materials and digital presence. As a result of all this, they’ll be more able to engage with potential buyers at trade fairs.
